What is the Country Hustle and Boot Kickin’ Relay?
Well, we like to think of it as the wildest country-themed outdoor party in the Northwest, with a fitness aspect to it. We’ve got a 5K run and walk, a cowboy boot mandatory 1 mile relay, and free kids dashes to get the blood flowing. We’ve also got an outdoor Saloon for the 21 and over crowd with a definite country feel to it, dance lessons (line dance and 2 step if you please), lots of great vendors handing out free stuff and a dj spinning all day to keep things lively.

**This is also the weekend leading into the Fourth of July and we invite you to come out and celebrate Independence Day and the Red, White and Blue a little early!

When is it?
Saturday afternoon and evening June 29, 2019.  There is a detailed timeline in the “Information” section of this site.

Where exactly is the event?
Magnuson Park. 7400 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle 98115. Enter through the main gate and look for the parking signs. We are located by the old tennis courts inside the park, so be prepared to walk a spell to get there. Here’s a map to help out.

Where do I pick up my shirt and bib?
There will be a last gasp registration and packet pickup event on Friday June 28 at Super Jock ‘n Jill’s Green Lake location (link) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you can’t make it there, you can still pick up your packet or register Saturday at the registration tent near the start/finish line inside Magnuson Park beginning at 3:00 p.m.

What do I get for my registration fee?
In addition to event participation, you get a sweet shirt commemorating the event, custom-designed bib number and a uniquely original Country Hustle finisher medal.   There will be several vendors on hand at the finish line handing out free swag, samples and treats plus of course our Country Hustle Saloon for those 21 and over. For anyone entering the Saloon, your first beer or cider is on the house. And if you’re fixin’ to come in costume, there’s a good chance you’ll win a prize of some sort.

Is the Country Hustle 5K Timed?

Nope. We’re more focused on having a country party, celebrating the Fourth early and getting a little exercise to boot without taking it all that seriously! But, the 5K will be accurately measured and certified, and we’ll have display clocks at the finish line so everyone can see their overall time if they’re so inclined.

What about Kids?
Sho ‘nuff we love kids! There will be a free kids dash, and if you want to buy a youth shirt for your child the cost is $12.  Each participant in The Little Cowboy/Cowgirl Dash will receive a custom-printed Country Hustle kids dash bib number to wear and a Country Hustle finisher ribbon at the end. We’ll also have root beer as well as other things to eat and drink for the little tykes.

 What are the courses like?
The start and finish are located at the same place. The 5K will take place on compact dirt and gravel paths as well as on paved paths and the Little Cowboy/Cowgirl Dash will be on the dirt/gravel path as well as on grass. The Boot Kickin’ Relay will also be on the dirt/gravel path as well as on grass.

Bathrooms?
There is a bathroom building right by the start & finish, and we'll supplement those with a row of portable outhouses as well as hand wash stations both inside and outside of the saloon. Plus there are numerous locations in the park along the 5K route with facilities.

 Is the Country Hustle dog-friendly?
Heck yeah we love the pooches! Just please remember to leash your furry friends and to clean up after your pup! And remember...some dogs like to dress up too!

Are strollers allowed?
Also yes –just please be respectful of your fellow participants.

What About Horses?
If we had our druthers, there would be horses at the Country Hustle! But given the circumstances and park rules and all, we respectfully request that you keep your horse at home this time around. Thank you for understanding!

Costume Contest You Say?
From country western gear and cowboy boots to your finest Fourth of July holiday best, we appreciate creative outfits so come decked-out (better yet, bring a team) in whatever garb you think best reflects the holiday and/or the Country Hustle and wear it throughout the event! We will be awarding prizes for best and most creative costumes.

What about parking?
Magnuson Park has ample parking for folks coming to the event, but there are always other park users as well to consider particularly if the weather is nice. So as always we encourage the use of public transportation or carpooling whenever possible. When you come into the park off of Sand Point Way NE look for the signs directing you to the event.

Will there be a place to check my clothes at the event?
Yup. You can check any gear you would like at our Gear Check tent in the main venue.

What forms of payment will be accepted at the event itself?
Credit, debit, cash and checks will all be accepted at the Country Hustle event. Sorry, gold nuggets and gold dust not accepted at this time.

Are refunds available if I can’t make the event for some reason?
Sorry, but there are no refunds for this event. But you might still have some options if you let us know in advance. Email us with your situation at least 24 hours before the event.

Do you need volunteers?
